Nutrient Therapies
Nutrient IV and IM therapy is the administration of nutrients directly to the bloodstream via the vein or muscle injection, providing nearly 100% bioavailability compared to the 20-50% typically absorbed with oral supplements. This method is highly efficient for repleting nutrient levels, making it ideal for addressing vitamin deficiencies, dehydration, and electrolyte imbalances. Nutrient IV and IM therapies offer a fast and effective way to support the body’s nutritional needs and improve wellbeing.
Why Nutrient Therapy?
Modern lifestyles often lead to nutrient deficiencies or suboptimal nutrient levels due to diet, compromised digestion, medication use, and stress. The most affected nutrients in these states are water-soluble vitamins like vitamin C and B vitamins, as well as minerals like zinc and magnesium. These can easily be administered in an IV or intramuscular injection to replete your system and help in many ways, including boosting energy, strengthening immune system health, improving sleep, reducing pain, improving mood, and healing skin. This is what makes these therapies such a powerful tool.
Hydration
Adequate hydration is one of the easiest ways to support your body and feel your best. A hydration IV or properly formulated nutrient IV can help optimize your hydration status by getting directly to the cells and tissues that need it most.
Whole Body Support
The nutrients delivered in IV and IM therapy have a role in all body systems, from energy production to the health of the immune system, to our nervous system and brain health, to skin, hair, and muscle growth, to hormone health, and more.
Rapid Benefits
One of the main benefits of IV and IM nutrient therapy is the speed with which it can be delivered. Because nutrients are delivered directly into the bloodstream, they can work on the body immediately. As a result, you could begin feeling better the same day you receive treatment.

FAQs
Nutrient IV and IM therapies are powerful tools for supporting the body’s health. Below are some insights into frequently asked questions. Please contact us for more details or if you have additional questions.
- What are the differences between IM and IV therapies?
IM therapies are a quick and convenient way to dose certain nutrients, but do not allow the large doses available in IV form. Some nutrients are also not appropriate via IM injection and can only be administered intravenously.
- Do you have vitamin D?
The California Board of Pharmacy (BOP) is the strictest in the nation. Currently, the CA BOP is targeting suppliers of nutrient therapies without merit, and vitamin D for injection is one of the casualties of these efforts. While vitamin D injectables are available outside of California, these suppliers are not legally able to send them to our state. Facilities that have vitamin D currently available for injection are doing so at a legal risk. We will let you know when we may have it in stock!
- How do I know if I will benefit from nutrient therapy?
Anyone can benefit from nutrient therapy, but all of the following health states guarantee you need a bit of support:
- Diet: Lack of nutrient-dense foods, lack of a varied diet, and intake of inflammatory foods and inert ingredients (pesticides, additives, etc.) can cause low nutrient levels.
- Suboptimal digestive health: Constipation, frequent loose stools, heartburn, IBS, bariatric surgery, bloat etc. are all signs of an unhealthy digestive system, which causes malabsorption of nutrients.
- Medication use: Medications well known to result in nutrient deficiencies are PPIs/acid blockers (heartburn medications), metformin, statin medications, stimulants such as Adderall and Vyvance, oral birth control, among many others.
- Poor sleep: Lack of adequate rest compromises cellular pathways causing higher nutrient demand throughout the day.
- High Stress: Stress causes us to cycle through certain nutrients more rapidly.
- Recent or frequent illness: Illness creates a high demand for vitamin C and other vitamins and minerals.
- Surgery: The inflammation and repair process that follows surgery creates a higher demand for vitamins and nutrients.
- Ongoing fatigue: This is a sign that the body needs support.
- Are there any contraindications to nutrient IV therapy?
While very safe for most, there are certain conditions and health states that should not receive nutrient IV therapy or should receive modified formulations. This is why Infuse Wellness emphasizes the importance of lab work and a short intake exam ahead of receiving ongoing nutrient IV therapies.
- How long does an IV take?
A standard nutrient IV may take up to an hour to administer, but typically falls between 35 and 45 minutes. NAD+ IVs and specialty IV therapies may take much longer.
- How often can I get nutrient therapy?
Because we are working with water-soluble nutrients, the body will utilize what it needs and excrete anything it doesn't, making these tools safe for frequent use. IM injections can be administered weekly. If you are dealing with an acute or complex health issue, frequent IV therapy 2-3x weekly for up to 4-6 weeks is a common treatment regimen for some medical presentations. For general wellness or support, treatments 1-2 per month, or before and after more stressful moments for the body (e.g. travel, work project) are helpful. Dr. Bull can help you structure a nutrient therapy treatment plan for your specific needs.
