Autoimmune Disease
Yes, there are treatments and answers beyond steroids and other immune suppressing drugs! While these medications have their place, it is a whole body approach that gets to the root cause of these diagnoses and on the road to minimizing or eliminating the need to be dependent on medications for quality of life.
Holistic Mental Health
Mental health is intricately linked to physical health and vice versa; the two should never be treated separately. Dr. Bull is trained in the Walsh Protocol and is completing her 12-month integrative psychiatry fellowship with Dr. James Greenblatt, MD.
Thyroid Health
It is possible to sustain your thyroid health off medication or with less medication if that is a goal for you. Whether you suffer from Hashimoto’s disease, Grave’s disease, or other hyper/hypothyroid disorders and thyroid concerns, a holistic approach can help you achieve your thyroid health goals.
Mold and Mycotoxins
Dr. Bull works with patients with suspected or known mold and mycotoxin exposure. She approaches these cases on an individual level and does not adhere to any specific protocol believing that each person is unique and deserves treatment specific to their individual needs.
MCAS | POTS | EDS
These diagnoses often co-occur together and are not well-recognized by conventional medicine. Dr. Bull has training and experience with these diagnoses but treats each case on an individual, whole-person basis as each presentation is unique.
Gut Health | Parasites | SIBO
Many of Dr. Bull’s patients have digestive concerns and she approaches GI health with an individualized lens tailored to your unique needs.
Deprescribing
Deprescribing is the intentional tapering down or off of medication in a methodical, supported way that minimizes side effects. If you would like to decrease or eliminate your pharmaceutical use, Dr. Bull can work with you on a whole-person approach to this goal.
FAQs
A few common FAQs are listed below. Please visit Dr. Bull’s private practice website for more detailed information.
- Are visits with Dr. Bull covered by insurance?
Visits are an out-of-pocket cost but those with PPO insurance may receive partial reimbursement if their plan includes out-of-network benefits. Please visit drmeredithbull.com for details on appointment costs.
- Is lab work covered by insurance?
Basic labs run through Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp are covered by many PPO plans depending on your testing benefits. Those with Medi-Cal, Medicare, or HMO plans can take advantage of Dr. Bull’s steeply discounted cash rates she has contracted with Quest Diagnostics, which typically run $150-$350 depending on testing needs. Functional labs are not generally covered by insurance and may run $175 - $395 depending on what is needed. These are not mandatory tests and she is mindful of these additional costs to you. Please visit drmeredithbull.com for more information.
- How soon can I see results?
A whole-person, holistic approach takes a working partnership over the course of several months - while improvements start to take place within a few weeks to a few months, healing the body for the long term takes time. A minimum of 6 months of work together is anticipated for simple cases and upward of 9 months to over a year of work together is expected for more complex cases. This is not quick-fix medicine; this is transformative medicine with benefits that can last a lifetime.
- Can Dr. Bull prescribe medications?
Yes, Dr. Bull can prescribe most medications and has a number of other tools at her disposal including botanical medicine, targeted nutrient therapies, IV therapies, and recognition of the mind-body connection.
